Dental volunteers
The Phillips Renner Foundation staffs projects with volunteer dentists who generously give their time and skill to helping children in need. Do you meet the criteria below? If so, please reach out!
Criteria for Dental Volunteers
1. Valid Dental License
Must be licensed as a dentist through the end of any dental mission they participate in.
2. COVID-19 Vaccination
Must have received at least two doses of a recognized COVID-19 vaccine.
3. Approved Dental Education
Must have completed dental education in the USA, Canada, EU, Norway, Denmark, UK, Australia, or New Zealand.
4. Oral Surgery Proficiency
Must be comfortable performing permanent molar extractions.
5. Behavioral Management
Must be proficient in managing behavior in children to ensure their safety.
6. Physical Endurance & Collaboration
Must be able to work long days on their feet and collaborate effectively within small, agile teams.
7. Logistical Contribution
Must be willing to assist with mission preparations, including transporting a portion of the necessary dental supplies.
8. Restorative Skills (Optional)
The ability to perform dental restorative work is highly valued, though not strictly required.
I have been volunteering with the Phillips Renner Foundation for the majority of my dental career. It has been extremely challenging and rewarding to provide dental care to so many children all over the world. I always come home with a greater appreciation for how fortunate my life has been.
